Hey Friends…!!
Firstly a very happy new year to the people who are reading this article in January. If you are new here my name is Jayesh and i’m a Student/Creator and today we are talking about the problem with The New Year Resolutions or the goal setting or whatever the name is.
PROBLEM!
Many of us including me will think about making the coming year the best year possible or bringing the best out of ourselves before the new year.We plan things, plan some goals, set new habits but ultimately result in the same place where we started off…!!😢
What Can Be Done?
1.Stop Planning Too much into the Future…
The common problem with us is that most of us will think of attaining something or doing something by the end of this year which is a huge blunder.
This is because, if we plan the goal annually we do the things thinking about completing it by the end of this year which could waste a lot of time(Parkinson Law which can be discussed in another article) or stop doing the think altogether in the process.
The Solution for this problem is pretty simple, Instead of making the goals annually try to set the goals on a quarterly basis. This is better explained by a book called the “The 12 Week Year: Get More Done in 12 Weeks Than Others Do in 12 Months“
Click on the button below⬇️ to know more if you’re interested in the book mentioned above☝️
So, the key idea here is to divide our goals into chunks of smaller attainable checkpoints.
2.”The Sunrise Strategy”
This thing might take something like 20 minutes of your time every morning but it’s worth doing it. Our goal after waking up every morning is to set up your top 1 or 2 things that you wanted to finish or make some valuable progress in and then start your day by allocating some theoretical time to that.
Also question yourself about what are your top 1-3 priorities for the week and how’s the progress upon each of those tasks.
This will keep you in check about your goals and also the progress you’ve made. It also helps you to understand if something is not going according to the plan and to take necessary action regarding that.
Soo…!
As we step into this new year, let’s remind ourselves that change doesn’t come from grand promises but from consistent, intentional action. Break your goals into smaller, achievable steps, embrace the Sunrise Strategy to prioritise your day, and stay adaptable.
Each day is an opportunity to start fresh, make progress, and grow. Remember, the secret to success isn’t in the planning; it’s in showing up every single day with purpose and passion.
So, let’s make this year not just another cycle of resolutions but a journey of real, meaningful transformation. You’ve got this….let’s own the year ahead together! 🚀💪
